Dr. Edward Chung, MD, is a distinguished board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and a Fellow of the prestigious Spine Institute of Santa Monica.
Hailing from Washington, DC, and Bethesda, MD, Dr. Chung earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, followed by a Master’s degree from Georgetown University. He completed his medical education at the Georgetown University School of Medicine and underwent rigorous Orthopaedic Surgery training at the renowned University of Maryland/Shock Trauma Medical Center. To further refine his expertise, he pursued an advanced Spinal Surgery Fellowship at the Spine Institute of Santa Monica at St. John's Health Center.
A published author and recognized authority in cutting-edge surgical techniques, Dr. Chung specializes in minimally invasive surgery, motion preservation technologies—including artificial disc replacement—and microsurgical procedures. His comprehensive training equips him to manage all aspects of spinal care for both the neck and back; however, he is dedicated to a conservative approach to patient treatment.
