Dr. Chung is an extremely caring doctor. I had severe back pains that impacted my lifestyle. I went to several other doctors that did not help. Dr. Chung operated on me and I am pain free and able to do all my activities. I am truly grateful to him.

Dr. Chung,
I want to express my deep appreciation for the care you provided me. As I now hit the three month mark since surgery, my family and I are amazed at how my life has changed. I developed critical spinal stenosis with sciatica in my low back. The pain was so bad I was barely able to walk or stand for the past few years. I tried physical therapy, yoga and injections by a pain management physician. Any relief I felt would only last a few days to at most a week. I was no longer able to walk my dog. I had to stop scuba diving. I could barely do anything around the house. Basically, I was crippled.
I was very nervous about having surgery. Before retiring, I worked for almost 4 decades as an Emergency Department Physician. I have treated thousands of patients with back pain and many have had multiple surgeries with no improvement and in many cases worsening of their back pain after surgery. Despite my fears, my increasing incapacitation made surgery inevitable.
Surgery was the first week in August and that evening I was able to walk up and down the hallway outside of my room to the nurses station and back multiple times and had no sciatica pain at all. The only discomfort I felt was in my lower back at the actual surgery site and the pain was minimal.
Now, I am walking over 3 miles a day, exercising with lightweights at the gym, scuba diving and I am able to play with my grandchildren. I have no back pain at all and can enjoy my retirement.
I can’t thank you enough for giving me back my life.

When my son was 19 years old, our family determined that Dr. Eskenazi was the best surgeon to perform a laminectomy on his back. Fast forward 25 years and I entered Dr. Eskenazi’s office because of severe pain. The doctor took one look at my facial expressions and understood immediately that the pain I was enduring had to be alleviated quickly. This meeting was a few days before Thanksgiving and he was to depart from Florida for a family reunion. He instructed me to go home, pack my bag, and head to the Delray Medical Center even though there were no rooms available at that time. The following day an ACDF surgery was performed successfully on my neck which alleviated the excruciating pain running down my neck to my shoulder, arm, and hand.
Two and a half months later I returned to Dr. Eskenazi’s office to discuss a laminectomy for my lower back which had also caused major sciatica pain running down my leg and foot for many, many months. For a long time I had to lie in bed since the pain was too great to bear while sitting. Another fantastic result. I left the hospital with total relief. Three weeks after surgery, I can now sit for long stretches and I walk over 3 miles daily.
I am so excited about my future since at some point I should be capable of returning to tennis, hiking, traveling, and all because of the great work performed by my trusted doctor. I would recommend anyone suffering from severe pain to make an appointment with Dr. Eskenazi. One of my friends followed my lead and will be having back surgery with the good doctor shortly.

I cannot express my gratitude enough to Dr. Chung, Seth and their entire office staff, who has always been quite helpful and efficient.
I suffered from severe back and leg pains for about two years. It reached the point of difficulty in walking and even turning in bed. After months of injections, medications and PT, Dr. Chung suggested that maybe it’s time to consider surgery, especially if it was affecting the quality of my life. It scared me, being 71 and never been hospitalized except for childbirth. Presurgery, Seth explained in detail the procedure, answering every one of my questions and concerns, and reassuring me that my pain would be gone when I woke up!
Their knowledge, skills, caring and warmth got me through. I was up and walking the hospital floor the very next day, after an L4L5 spinal fusion.
After almost a year, I am totally pain free, and am able to once again be active.
I certainly owe them a huge thanks for giving me my life back.
I know they will always be there if and when I need them.
That’s what we look for in a Dr!

I met Dr. Mark Eskenazi in July 2021 with multi-level lumbar stenosis and was under his watchful, skilled care for two years. By October 2023 I required urgent spinal fusion surgery and trusted that I had an amazing surgeon to give my spine its 2.0 upgrade. I am grateful and blessed with a successful outcome that I credit to Dr. Eskenazi and his staff.

By way of introduction, the 150000 miles I have run and raced have no doubt compromised by spine , resulting in pain and instability..
I sought opinions from a least six surgeons in South Florida, all of whom had excellent credentials, it was Mark Eskenazi’s reputation that seemed to be the most prominent.
My several visits to his office and its corresponding amount of time for his comprehensive examination and explanations gave me great confidence that he was the one to rehabilitate my back – and for sure he did.
His staff has been most accommodating, certainly a credit to him and besides being a fine surgeon, he is a true gentleman.
